Happily Never After

she sits and she waits,
holding onto a dream.
she thought she'd find a prince,
and she did, so it seemed.

life was fanastic,
as it always begins.
then it all fell apart,
with cuts under her skin.

she held on,
as long as she could.
but decieving herself,
did not do any good.

she told her self,
she loved him.
and that was enough,
until life grew dim.

she just wanted in,
but he kept her out.
he put her back in the tower,
and his love, she did doubt.

he swore things would change,
so she sayed a bit longer.
she built some walls,
and became a bit stronger.

he broke them down,
with one easy glance.
she let him back in,
with the promise of a dance.

but it was after midnight,
so this fairy tale ends.
with a final saying of,
"lets just be friends."

she found a dream,
to hold onto at night.
its gone now, for
he had no armor, he was no knight.
